About Co-operative Bank

The Co-operative Bank is an FCA-regulated UK bank headquartered in Manchester, known for its ethical banking policies. It was founded in 1872 as part of the co-operative movement and offers a full range of personal and business banking products. The bank holds approximately 2.5 million UK customers and is FSCS-protected up to £85,000.

In 2023, the Co-operative Bank merged with Coventry Building Society's banking operations. Despite ownership changes, the Co-operative Bank brand, ethical policy, and online banking platform remain distinct, and statement download and export processes remain the same.

Does Co-operative Bank offer CSV export?
Yes. Go to Statements → Download Transactions → choose CSV format. This works in desktop browsers; the mobile app does not offer the CSV download option. You can also download in OFX (Money) format for accounting software. For full-year exports or data older than 2 years, use the PDF statements and convert with our tool.
How do I convert a Co-operative Bank PDF statement to Excel?
Upload the PDF to bankstatementengine.com and download as CSV. Open the CSV in Excel. The converter accurately extracts Date, Description, Debit, Credit, and running Balance columns from Co-op Bank's standard PDF layout.
How do I import Co-operative Bank transactions into QuickBooks?
Option 1: Download OFX from Co-op online banking and import via QuickBooks Online (Transactions → Upload from file). Option 2: Download PDF statement, convert to QBO at bankstatementengine.com, and import the .qbo file. QuickBooks Desktop requires QBO format — it does not accept CSV.
Can I use Co-operative Bank statements for HMRC Self-Assessment?
Yes. Download PDF statements covering the relevant UK tax year (6 April to 5 April) from online banking. Convert to CSV to get a spreadsheet of all transactions for income/expense categorisation on SA100, SA103 (self-employment), or SA105 (property) forms.
How do I import Co-operative Bank transactions into Xero?
Download the Co-op Bank OFX file from online banking (Statements → Download Transactions → Money format). In Xero: Accounting → Bank Accounts → Import a Statement → upload the OFX file. Alternatively, connect Xero directly via Open Banking for automatic transaction feeds.
Does the Co-operative Bank mobile app let you download statements?
The Co-op Bank app shows recent transactions but does not offer PDF or CSV download — you must use the desktop website at co-operativebank.co.uk. The app also does not support the OFX export; that requires the desktop online banking interface.
How do I prove income using a Co-operative Bank statement?
Download PDF statements (3–6 months) from co-operativebank.co.uk. The official PDF includes the bank's logo, account name, sort code, account number, and running balance — accepted by mortgage lenders, landlords, HMRC, and UKVI for visa applications. Download directly; do not print and re-scan.
What is the difference between Co-operative Bank and a co-operative credit union?
Co-operative Bank is an FCA-regulated UK bank with current accounts, savings, mortgages, and business banking (FSCS-protected). Credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives — UK examples include London Mutual, Plane Saver, and No1 CopperPot. Our converter handles both Co-op Bank PDFs and most UK credit union PDF statement formats.
How far back can I get Co-operative Bank statements?
Personal accounts: 7 years of statements available in online banking. Business accounts (SmartBusiness): 13 months. For statements older than these limits, contact Co-operative Bank customer services — archived statements from further back can often be requested for a fee (typically £5–£10 per statement).
